CBI director Praveen Sood has instructed his subordinates to ensure there is no further delay in deciding on departmental inquiries against CBI’s own officials. These inquiries were initiated on the charges of acts of omission and commission. Long pending inquiries don’t serve the purpose for which they were initiated and leave the officer under inquiry in limbo.
Also, it leads to a loss of manpower as those under inquiry can’t be given any sensitive investigation. Those in the know of things say Sood’s instructions have resulted in at least inquiries against CBI’s own officials deciding fast!
