Lucknow: In a major administrative move, the Uttar Pradesh government has posted 45 newly trained PCS (Provincial Civil Services) officers to various districts across the state. These officers, who recently completed their training at the Uttar Pradesh Academy of Administration and Management, Lucknow, have been directed to immediately assume their new responsibilities. The government has also warned of disciplinary action in case of unnecessary delay in joining.
Training Period: April 21 – July 11, 2025
The PCS officers underwent a rigorous vocational training programme from April 21 to July 11, focusing on administrative, field, and governance skills to prepare them for leadership roles in the districts. Following the completion of their training, their postings were finalized and announced on July 9.

Strict Orders on Immediate Joining
The state government has instructed all 45 officers to take charge immediately and submit proof of joining to the government. The official order warns that delays without valid reasons will invite disciplinary action under civil service rules.
According to a senior official in the Department of Personnel, “The officers have been adequately trained to take up responsibilities in the field. The government expects them to join without delay and start contributing to governance and public service delivery.”
Backdrop: Focus on Efficient Administration
This move comes amid Uttar Pradesh’s ongoing push to strengthen administrative capacity at the grassroots level. Notably, 22 PCS officers were recently promoted to the IAS cadre, signaling the Yogi Adityanath government’s emphasis on performance-based progression in the bureaucracy.
