The central deputation tenure of Ateesh Kumar Singh (IRTS: 1994), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), has been extended by one year.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Ministry of MSME’s proposal to extend his tenure beyond June 8, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The extension comes with the temporary upgradation of one post of Joint Development Commissioner in the office of the Development Commissioner to the level of Joint Secretary.
Mr. Singh, who was initially appointed in late May 2020 and assumed charge on June 8, 2020, has played a significant role in policy implementation and initiatives aimed at strengthening the MSME sector during his ongoing tenure.
