Ram Ki Paidi Gets a Grand Makeover with Viewing Gallery and Selfie Point
At the heart of Ayodhya’s transformation is the majestic Ram Ki Paidi, which now features a 350-meter-long stairway and a massive viewing gallery built at a cost of Rs. 2324.55 lakh in FY 2023–24. The site now accommodates up to 20,000 spectators, making it a perfect setting for large-scale devotional events.
The addition of a selfie point with grand statues of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, and Lord Lakshman, along with modern lighting and decorative boundary walls, has made the spot a centerpiece for tourists and pilgrims alike.
Amphitheaters, Stone Umbrellas, and Modern Lighting Redefine Devotional Experience
A new project worth Rs. 2367.61 lakh has been approved for further enhancement of Ram Ki Paidi in FY 2024–25. The upgrades include:
- 8 mini amphitheaters
- 6 intricately designed stone umbrellas
- 8 large devotional lamps
- 7-meter high stone pillars
All complemented by thematic lighting to create a mesmerizing blend of tradition and innovation.
Saryu Ghats Revived: A New Chapter for Spiritual Tourism in Ayodhya
Ayodhya’s spiritual lifeline — the Saryu River — is also witnessing a massive revival. With a budget of Rs. 2346.11 lakh, the renovation covers 2.5 kilometers of ghats, and includes:
- 32 stone umbrellas
- 11 massive stone pillars
- 4 prayer zones
- 2 cow worship centers
- 15 wayfinding signs
- 60 storytelling interpretation walls
- VIP pavilion
The Saryu Aarti, a major attraction, will now have a cleaner, safer, and more divine backdrop, drawing spiritual tourists in greater numbers.
UPPCL and Administration Drive Development with Cultural Commitment
Mr. Manoj Sharma, Project Manager at UPPCL, emphasized that the developments are not just about construction, but about “cultural renaissance.” He stated that efforts are underway to complete the work ahead of schedule, ensuring high quality and spiritual integrity.

District Magistrate Mr. Nikhil Tikaram noted that these visionary projects have elevated Ayodhya’s global status, providing not only spiritual enrichment but also stimulating the local economy and creating new employment opportunities.
He added, “Ayodhya now offers a safe, aesthetically appealing and culturally rich environment that preserves its ancient legacy while embracing the future.”
