Aizawl: Bank of Baroda (BoB) has reinforced its commitment to supporting the Government of Mizoram’s developmental initiatives, focusing on development financing, banking expansion, and financial inclusion. The discussions were held during a high-level meeting between senior Bank of Baroda officials and the State leadership at the Chief Minister’s Office in Aizawl.
High-Level Meeting with Mizoram Chief Minister
Ms. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director of Bank of Baroda, along with Mr. Prabhat Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. S. P. Nayak, Zonal Head of North Eastern States Zone, and Mr. Sanjay Pratap, Regional Head of Guwahati Region, met Mr. Lalduhoma, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram.
During the discussion, Ms. Vaheed highlighted the Bank’s role in supporting developmental projects in the State through strengthened financing solutions and enhanced credit delivery. She emphasized the Bank’s intent to expand its presence across Mizoram to provide better banking access and foster inclusive growth, particularly in underserved regions.

Discussion on “Your Money Your Right” Initiative
Following the meeting with the Chief Minister, Ms. Vaheed met Mr. Khilli Ram Meena, IAS, Chief Secretary of Mizoram, and briefed him on the Department of Financial Services’ campaign “Your Money Your Right”, aimed at refunding unclaimed deposits transferred to the RBI’s Depositor Education and Awareness Fund (DEAF) to rightful account holders or their legal heirs.
Ms. Vaheed handed over details of DEAF accounts belonging to government departments and institutions and requested the State administration’s support in identifying depositors to ensure timely refunds. The Chief Secretary acknowledged the initiative and assured full cooperation from the State administration.
Plans for Banking Expansion in Mizoram
The Chief Secretary discussed the strategic expansion of Bank of Baroda branches in key locations to further improve financial access across Mizoram. He appreciated the Bank’s ongoing efforts in strengthening citizen-centric banking and assured the State’s cooperation to support these initiatives.
