Ahmedabad: Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, inaugurated a newly constructed four-lane flyover bridge at Satadhar Junction in Ahmedabad on March 29. The project is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in one of the city’s busiest corridors.
Key Features of the Satadhar Flyover
The flyover has been developed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and comes with the following specifications:
- Length: 936 metres
- Width: 16.60 metres
- Cost: Approximately ₹90 crore
- Location: Road connecting Naranpura to Sola Science City
Strategically built at the Satadhar four-way intersection in the Ghatlodia area, the flyover aims to streamline traffic flow and reduce travel time for daily commuters.

Funded Under State Urban Development Scheme
The project was proposed by the Chief Minister himself and funded under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, a key initiative focused on strengthening urban infrastructure across Gujarat.
During the inauguration, CM Patel emphasized that the flyover would provide much-needed relief from traffic bottlenecks and improve connectivity in the region.

Recent Development Push in Rajkot
A day earlier, on March 28, CM Patel inaugurated and laid foundation stones for around 45 development projects worth ₹751.20 crore in Rajkot.
Key highlights include:
- EWS-II Housing Project: ₹119.05 crore, benefiting 1,010 families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
- Regional Transport Office (RTO): New building and vehicle test track costing ₹9.78 crore

These initiatives reflect the Gujarat government’s continued focus on urban development, improved housing, and modern infrastructure. Projects like the Satadhar flyover are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing mobility and supporting the state’s rapid urban expansion.
