Bina: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), through its Bina Refinery, is driving a social transformation in rural Madhya Pradesh with Project Samatva. The initiative focuses on preparing children from 22 villages near the refinery for competitive entrance exams, ensuring access to quality education and equal opportunities.
Educational Empowerment Through Mentoring
Each year, Project Samatva supports around 1,000 rural students by offering structured mentoring and coaching. Local educated youth serve as mentors, guiding children to prepare for entrance exams to reputed government schools. The impact has been significant, with more than 400 students already securing admissions on merit into institutions like Navodaya Vidyalayas, Shramodaya, Gyanodaya, CM Rise schools, as well as various Olympiads and Merit-cum-Means scholarships.

Advancing Digital Literacy
Alongside classroom success, BPCL is also investing in digital empowerment. At the Agasod Computer Centre, over 200 students have successfully completed certified ‘Data Entry Operator’ courses, enhancing employability and bridging the digital divide in rural communities.
Fostering Meritocracy and Inclusion
By promoting merit-based education, Project Samatva is strengthening confidence among students and parents alike. The initiative is shaping a new educational culture in villages, proving
that access to quality learning can transform communities and pave the way for long-term progress.
