In view of rising cases of Covid 19 in the country, Prime Minister Modi will be holding a discussion with executive heads of 100 districts on 18 and 20 May. Among these, 46 District Collectors from nine states will be included in the discussion on 18 May, whereas, the rest 54 DCs will be attending the discussion on 20 May.
On 20 May, DMs from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Puducherry, Odisha, Kerala, and Haryana will be attending the discussion with the Prime Minister. The country recorded 3,43,122 fresh cases on Thursday with 3,994 deaths.
The discussion which is being held with the District Collectors of the most affected states during the second wave of Covid 19, is happening for the first time during this pandemic. Prior to this, the Prime Minister has conducted meetings with Chief Ministers of all the states several times.
