CM Dr. Mohan Yadav reaffirmed the Madhya Pradesh government’s commitment to the economic empowerment of women and social inclusivity during the Matrishakti Sammelan held at Singhpur in Satna district on Saturday. He emphasized that initiatives such as the Laadli Behna Yojana are central to the state’s developmental agenda. He announced that monthly assistance under the scheme will be raised to Rs. 1,500 after Diwali, and will gradually increase to Rs. 3,000 by 2028.
In the holy month of Shravan, an additional Rs. 250 will be credited to the accounts of Ladli sisters along with their monthly transfer. More than Rs. 1,500 crore is currently being disbursed monthly to support women’s welfare.
Daughters as Pillars of Society
The Chief Minister praised the role of women in the social fabric, describing them as the foundation of India’s family tradition. “Daughters not only support one but two families,” he said, underscoring their significance. He lauded the Sanatan cultural values and described the Sammelan as an expression of deep reverence and gratitude to mothers and sisters.
Dr. Yadav added that the government is promoting women’s participation in jobs, self-help groups, panchayats, and urban bodies, alongside educational incentives like laptops and bicycles, and special assistance for those pursuing professional degrees.
Advancing Agriculture and Rural Infrastructure
Dr. Yadav highlighted the state’s significant strides in agriculture, including a massive expansion in irrigation capacity—from 7 lakh hectares in 2002-03 to 55 lakh hectares today. He stated that the Bargi Canal Project will be completed soon, benefiting the Rewa-Satna belt with drinking and irrigation water.
The CM also emphasized that solar-powered irrigation pumps are being subsidized to make farmers electricity-independent. Wheat procurement rates have increased, with expectations of reaching Rs. 2,700 per quintal in the next two years.
Strengthening the Rural Economy through Cow Rearing and Renewable Energy
To boost milk production and farmers’ income, the government is encouraging cow rearing, offering Rs. 10 lakh grant for setting up 25-cow units and Rs. 40 per cow in gaushalas. He said Madhya Pradesh contributes 9% of the country’s milk and aims to double that to 20%. Land and subsidies are also being provided for large-scale cow shelters.
Solar energy is being promoted through government subsidies for solar plants and electrifying farmers’ pumps. Plans are also in place for a solar plant in Singhpur, he announced.
Pilgrimage Development and Tourism Boost
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reiterated the government’s dedication to cultural preservation through projects like Ram Van Gaman Path and the development of sites associated with Lord Krishna into pilgrimage destinations. He added that the Rewa-Satna region will be promoted for homestays and tourism activities to generate employment.
