For Mathura-Vrindavan, Mr. Adityanath reviewed 195 proposed projects worth Rs. 30,080 crore, with work having commenced on 23 of them. He instructed officials to develop integrated government office complexes at both the district and divisional levels, equipped with advocates’ chambers, parking, food courts, and civic amenities, to streamline public service delivery. Stressing the religious and cultural significance of Mathura-Vrindavan, he emphasized the development of tourism-friendly infrastructure such as improved roads, toilets, rest areas, a digital museum, convention center, and an environmental path in Vrindavan. Specific directives were issued for the installation of a statue of Swami Haridas, development of Krishna Lok Park in Jawahar Bagh, and enhancement of the Vrindavan Parikrama Marg. The CM also called for city forest development and expedited work on the approach roads to the Ashtasakhi temples.
In Kanpur, 61 projects worth nearly Rs. 37,000 crore have been planned under Vision 2030. These include major developments like New Kanpur City, Knowledge City, Medicity, Atal Nagar (based on the land pooling model), EV Park, Aerocity, and a Mega MSME Cluster. A special project titled ‘City Within the City’ is being developed over 153 hectares with an investment of Rs. 1,169 crore. Mr. Adityanath stressed the need to remove encroachments and resolve traffic congestion issues permanently. He reviewed progress on 29 major infrastructure projects including Metro extension, Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS), Outer Ring Road, Master Plan Roads, Trans Ganga Bridge, and integrated public transport terminals.
Highlighting his government’s flagship Gorakhpur Link Expressway project, the Chief Minister said that the 91-km-long expressway is not only a milestone in regional connectivity but also a catalyst for industrial growth in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The expressway has already attracted massive investments and led to the establishment of industrial corridors along its length. Notable examples include the Rs. 1,100 crore PepsiCo bottling plant, already operational, and interest from MNCs such as Coca-Cola and Bisleri for setting up units nearby. Under the supervision of the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), two key industrial sectors (27 and 28) have been developed alongside the expressway, with allotments made for nearly 100 industrial units. A plastic park with 92 proposed units is also being developed, with land allotted for 60 units.
The Gorakhpur Link Expressway, set to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister on June 17, is envisioned as the industrial backbone of Purvanchal and a symbol of the Yogi government’s commitment to integrated infrastructure and economic development.
