New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Ministry of Coal Satish Chandra Dubey confirmed that coal shortages are now a thing of the past. He credited modern technology and strong government initiatives for this milestone.
Minister Tours SECL Mines Over Two Days
Dubey conducted a two-day tour of SECL’s operational areas on June 30 and July 1. The visit included interactive sessions with mine teams and multiple equipment inaugurations.
Underground Coal Boost Powered by Continuous Miner
He virtually inaugurated a Continuous Miner at Chirimiri’s NCPH underground mine. This machine supports India’s goal of 100 million tonnes of underground coal by 2030.
Monsoon-Related Dip in Production
Coal India’s output fell 8.5% to 57.8 million tonnes in June, compared to 63.1 million tonnes last June. First-quarter output dropped to 183.3 million tonnes from 189.3 million tonnes.
Dubey attributed the decline to monsoon-related delays but assured that open-pit production had recovered.
