Uttar Pradesh: A New Hub for Defense Manufacturing

During his address, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the strategic importance of the new manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized that every war has introduced new formats, and Operation Sindoor has been a learning experience for the nation. With the establishment of the drone and defense manufacturing unit, the state is set to become a major player in defense manufacturing. The Chief Minister also noted that Uttar Pradesh is rapidly moving ahead in the sector, with marked land being provided for the Defense Corridor, which will serve as a hub for defense-related manufacturing.

He expressed that, with the operational capabilities developed here, India would no longer have to rely on other countries for critical defense technologies. The facility will play a crucial role in enhancing India’s self-reliance, ensuring the country’s defense data remains secure, and preventing external vulnerabilities.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Praise for PM Modi and Rajnath Singh

In a heartfelt address, CM Yogi Adityanath extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh for bringing one of the two emerging defense manufacturing centers to Uttar Pradesh. He particularly thanked Mr. Rajnath Singh for establishing the BrahMos missile center in Lucknow, which has become a cornerstone of India’s missile defense capabilities. CM Yogi remarked, “The smile of Lucknow was incomplete until the sound of the BrahMos missile reached the ears of the enemy.”

The Chief Minister emphasized that with the BrahMos center and the new drone facility, Uttar Pradesh is well-positioned to play a central role in India’s defense infrastructure.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s Vision for India’s Advanced Defense Sector

During the inauguration of the Aircraft Engine and Defense Aerospace Test Facility, Defense Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh praised the state-of-the-art technologies present at the facility. He toured the plant, which includes advanced equipment such as:

  • Engine Test BED
  • Metal Additive Manufacturing Facility
  • Furnaces capable of reaching 2800 °C
  • Advanced Composite Polymer Manufacturing Center
  • Payload Drop Drones, Swarm Drones, and Precision-Guided Missile Drones

These advanced technologies will significantly boost India’s defense capabilities, positioning the country as a global leader in military innovation.

Security Measures for High-Profile Event

In light of the high-profile nature of the event, Noida Police took extensive security measures, deploying over 25,000 police personnel throughout the city. The security detail also included officers from other police units as well as the PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary), ensuring the safety of both Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Meanwhile, in a move that has drawn attention, several opposition leaders, including Samajwadi Party District President Aashray Gupta, Bharatiya Kisan Union State President Kranti Parvinder Yadav, and SP leader Subhash Bhati, were placed under house arrest by the Noida Police as a precautionary measure to maintain security for the event.

A Step Towards Self-Reliance in Defense Manufacturing

The establishment of this manufacturing facility in Noida is a significant step in the country’s journey towards self-reliance in defense technology. With Rafe MFiber Company producing drones, unmanned aerial vehicle engines, and other essential systems for the Indian Armed Forces and the Police Force, India is poised to strengthen its defense autonomy. This initiative aligns with the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) set forth by Prime Minister Modi, which aims to boost indigenous manufacturing and reduce dependence on foreign defense imports.
