Empowering Sports: NTPC Dadri Supports Emerging Cricketer from Gautam Buddha Nagar Under CSR Initiative

New Delhi: In a heartwarming gesture to uplift local sporting talent, NTPC Dadri honoured Disha Nagar, a promising young cricketer from Gautam Buddha Nagar, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The felicitation ceremony took place on Wednesday, where Chandramouli Kashina, Executive Director & Project Head of NTPC Dadri, presented her with a professional cricket bat as a token of encouragement and recognition.

Rising Star from Akilpur Jagir

Disha hails from Akilpur Jagir village in Gautam Buddha Nagar district and is the daughter of Arvind Nagar and Seema Devi. At just 17 years old, she has already made a name for herself, having represented Delhi State’s Under-19 cricket team as an all-rounder since 2023.

Her recent selection to the South Delhi team in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, scheduled to begin on August 17, has brought immense pride to her village and the local sporting community.

NTPC’s Continued Commitment to Youth Empowerment

Congratulating Disha on her selection, Chandramouli Kashina lauded her dedication and talent. “Achieving this level of recognition at such a young age is truly inspiring. We are proud to support young talents like Disha through our CSR programmes,” he said.

NTPC Dadri has consistently supported initiatives that promote education, sports, and skill development among youth in its operational areas.

Disha’s Gratitude and Aspirations

Expressing her gratitude, Disha Nagar said, “I’m truly thankful to NTPC Dadri for this recognition and support. Being selected for the DPL is a dream come true. This encouragement gives me more confidence to pursue cricket at the national level.”

She also expressed hope that the backing from institutions like NTPC would inspire more girls in rural areas to pursue their dreams in sports.
