New Delhi: The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is actively advancing the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan”, a nationwide initiative focused on promoting women’s health and family well-being. Launched under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Abhiyaan is being observed from September 17 to October 2, 2025, in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a healthy and empowered India under the mission Viksit Bharat by 2047.
As part of this Abhiyaan, ESIC hospitals and medical colleges across the country are conducting comprehensive health screening camps, awareness sessions, and outreach programmes that promote preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, and lifestyle-related education – especially among women workers and vulnerable groups.
Bengaluru: ESIC Rajajinagar Hospital Conducts Screening for 120 Beneficiaries
At ESIC Medical College PGIMSR and Model Hospital, Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, a large-scale health screening and education drive was held on 20th September. Over 120 women, including Safai Mitras and insured beneficiaries, were screened for conditions such as tuberculosis, menstrual disorders, and oral, breast, and cervical cancers.
Health findings –
- 7 diabetic cases
- 5 hypertensive cases
- 13 anaemia cases
- 40 suspected oral cancer cases
- 16 suspected breast cancer cases
- 5 suspected cervical cancer cases
Additional highlights included –
- Health education on anaemia, TB, nutrition, and NCDs
- Yoga and Ayurveda Department demonstration on the use of millets
- Blood donation camp collecting 22 units
- Sessions on genital hygiene and infection prevention
- Outreach camps at urban and rural centres on diabetes, immunisation, antenatal care, and menstrual hygiene
Tiruppur: Focused Care for Women Over 30
On 21st September, ESIC Hospital, Tiruppur organised a women-centric health camp focusing on those above 30 years of age. A total of 44 women were screened for –
- Blood pressure, sugar, and haemoglobin
- Oral, breast, and cervical cancers
Health results –
- 11 suspected hypertension cases
- 13 suspected diabetes cases
- 2 anaemia cases
Women also received Pap smear testing, on-the-spot consultations, and were educated on topics like menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and routine immunisation.

Ludhiana: Awareness Sessions and Antenatal Support
At ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, three major awareness sessions were conducted –
- Menstrual hygiene (Obstetrics & Gynaecology)
- Nutrition and immunisation (Paediatrics)
Screening statistics –
- 21 women screened for cervical and breast cancer
- 25 beneficiaries tested for anaemia, hypertension, and diabetes
- Oral cancer screening conducted
- 4 new antenatal cases registered
Pregnant women also received free medicines and dietary advice.
Alwar: Campus and Outreach Camps for Holistic Screening
On the campus of ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Alwar, a “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar” health camp screened –
- 113 individuals for hypertension
- 110 for diabetes and anaemia
- 52 for breast cancer
- 113 for oral cancer
- 4 for cervical cancer
- 1 antenatal check-up
A special health talk on cervical cancer by Dr. Deepika Verma helped raise awareness among security staff, safai mitras, ARM staff, and patients.
An outreach camp at MIA, Desoola, saw 102 participants, including ESIC staff and housekeeping workers. Activities included –
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training
- Vaccination awareness
- Lifestyle disorder counselling

Nationwide Campaign for Women’s Health Empowerment
The Abhiyaan is being implemented across Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, ESIC hospitals, community health centres, and primary healthcare facilities. Through these focused interventions, ESIC is contributing to –
- Early detection of common diseases
- Improved access to preventive healthcare
- Health education on non-communicable diseases, nutrition, and hygiene
- Empowerment of working women and underserved communities
