Shahjahanpur: In an emotional and powerful moment that has touched many, Radhe Ram, a resident of Varanasi and father of ADM Arvind Kumar, visited his son’s office at the ADM (Finance and Revenue) department in Shahjahanpur unannounced. What started as a routine office day turned into a profound lesson on justice, integrity, and duty – delivered by a father to his son who holds a key administrative position in Uttar Pradesh.
The Unexpected Visit: Father Poses as a Complainant
On a regular working Monday, Radhe Ram walked into ADM Arvind Kumar’s office folding his hands and greeting his son as if he were a common complainant. Surprised and emotional, Arvind Kumar was stunned to see his father standing right before him.
Radhe Ram, who had come from Varanasi without prior intimation, conveyed a simple but powerful message: “This chair you sit on is the seat of justice. Do not take bribes, do not harass the poor, and do not do any duplicate work. Help the poor as you would want to be helped. Justice dispensed here should be as pure as in God’s house.”
The son listened with respect and sincerity, acknowledging the weight of his father’s words. He immediately invited Radhe Ram to sit beside him, underscoring the deep respect and emotional bond between the two.
Viral Moment of Integrity and Wisdom
The father-son meeting and Radhe Ram’s heartfelt advice have been widely shared and appreciated on social media platforms, resonating with many who believe in clean governance and social justice.
The message carries particular significance in a time when public officials’ integrity is often questioned. Radhe Ram’s visit is seen as a reminder that the foundation of public service rests on honesty, empathy, and dedication to the welfare of the poor.
A Father’s Journey: From Hardship to Educator of His Children
Despite being illiterate himself, Radhe Ram’s commitment to education for his children is inspiring. He worked as a mate in the Public Works Department (PWD) but never allowed financial or social limitations to hinder his children’s schooling.
His son, Arvind Kumar, received education from Banaras, Allahabad, and Delhi. Overcoming many obstacles, Arvind’s journey is a testament to his father’s sacrifices and unwavering support.
ADM Arvind Kumar: From Struggles to Serving the People
Arvind Kumar’s educational journey was not smooth. After initially dropping out of school due to failing in 11th grade, a personal dispute motivated him to focus on his studies with renewed determination. He graduated in 2010, completed his post-graduation by 2012, and successfully cleared the PCS exam in 2013.
His training began in Ballia in 2015, followed by postings in Kushinagar as SDM, where he served for four years. Later, he worked in Sultanpur and Bahraich before being promoted to ADM (Finance and Revenue) in Shahjahanpur on February 18, 2025.
Family Background and Personal Life
Arvind Kumar comes from a modest background. His sister, Kumari Chinta, is a teacher, and his two brothers, Ghanshyam and Suraj, are employed with the Sugar Corporation. His mother, Dhanavati, passed away in 2018.
Currently, Arvind lives in Shahjahanpur with his wife, Soumya. He remains committed to serving the people and upholding the values his father instilled in him.
ADM’s Commitment to Upholding Justice
Speaking about his father’s visit, ADM Arvind Kumar said, “My father came to see how I am doing at work. His words are a precious reminder, and I will strive to implement his advice in my service.”
This heartfelt episode is not just a personal story but a symbol of the ideal administrative ethos – integrity, impartiality, and compassion.
