Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday reviewed the status of NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL) projects in Chennai, as per an official statement.
During the review, Reddy, along with officials from the coal ministry, acknowledged NLCIL’s initiatives in expanding renewable energy capacity in regions such as Rajasthan, Assam, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He commended the company’s commitment to green energy and sustainability efforts.
The minister also encouraged the state-run enterprise to explore opportunities for promoting tourism. Additionally, he praised NLCIL’s significant strides in the renewable energy sector and its large-scale diversification into sustainable power generation.
Reddy further appreciated the company’s ongoing work in constructing a 2,400 MW thermal power project at Talabira, recognising it as a major development in India’s energy infrastructure, the statement added.
