Bihar’s Road Construction Minister Mr. Nitin Naveen announced on Friday that the government has approved plans for the construction and widening of key roads and bridges across seven districts, with a total investment of Rs 120 crore. In Bhagalpur, a high-level RCC bridge and approach road will be constructed from Domnia Chowk of Pirpainti Block to Babupur via Bakharpur, at an investment of Rs 23.36 crore. This infrastructure will improve the connectivity of villages located on the banks of the Ganga River.
Strengthening Critical Routes for Economic Growth
The widening and strengthening of the Kazi Path from NH-107 in Purnia will cost Rs 22.61 crore, benefiting an essential route that connects the business centers of the district. In Hajipur, the Goraul-Sandho-Mathanamal Road will be built at an investment of Rs 15.61 crore, improving transport routes for business and community activities.
The Raxaul-Adapur-Chhoradanon-Canal Path in West Champaran will undergo improvement with a budget of Rs 7.25 crore. Additionally, in Darbhanga, road widening and strengthening will be carried out from Alalpatti to Ganj Bhaya Bhairavpatti at a cost of Rs 5.51 crore, further enhancing regional transportation.
Four New Roads in Patna Under Urban Development Scheme
Patna, the state capital, will also see the construction of four new roads as part of the Chief Minister’s Urban Comprehensive Development Scheme. These roads will be built at a cost of approximately Rs 1 crore. The first project includes the construction of a PCC path from Shiv Mandir Gali in Ward No. 27 to Lalan Sharma’s house, costing Rs 24.82 lakh. Other roads include the PCC path from Yadunanand Prasad’s house to Satgharwa, and from Sant Pal School to Aji Scooter, at respective costs of Rs 17.56 lakh and Rs 13.98 lakh.
Minister’s Vision for Safer and Smoother Roads
Minister Nitin Naveen emphasized that these road construction projects are crucial for both rural and urban development. “Better roads are vital for the development of communities. They not only enhance the ease of transport but also improve access to business, education, and healthcare services,” said Mr. Naveen.
Focus on Road Development for Economic Growth
Over the past few years, the Bihar government has prioritized road construction, with significant investments coming from both state and central schemes. Experts argue that roads are the backbone of industrial and social development, and continuous investment in infrastructure will foster economic growth, create employment opportunities, and stimulate business activities in the region.
