The Jharkhand government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren, has approved a series of landmark proposals reflecting its commitment to governance, heritage, health, and infrastructure. At a cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, as many as 66 proposals were cleared, covering wide-ranging policy areas.
Residence Allocation to Roopi Soren in Honour of Shibu Soren
One of the most notable decisions was the allocation of the Morabadi residence of the late former Chief Minister Mr. Shibu Soren to his wife, Ms. Roopi Soren. The move pays tribute to Mr. Shibu Soren’s pivotal role in the formation and identity of Jharkhand, acknowledging his enduring legacy in the state’s political and social landscape.
Boost for Art and Culture
In a bid to preserve and promote Jharkhand’s rich cultural heritage, the cabinet approved the establishment of the Lalit Kala Academy and the Jharkhand Sangeet Natak Academy. These institutions will serve as platforms to nurture local talent, support artists, and strengthen the state’s cultural identity at the national and global levels.
Health Sector Reforms with Organ Transplant Guidelines
The government introduced new guidelines for organ and tissue transplantation, bringing clarity and transparency to medical procedures. This step is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery, safeguard patient rights, and ensure ethical practices in the medical sector.
Major Infrastructure Development Initiatives
The cabinet also cleared proposals aimed at strengthening infrastructure. Among them is a significant budgetary allocation for the construction of Jharkhand Bhawan in Navi Mumbai, which will serve as a key administrative and cultural hub. Additionally, a major dam rehabilitation project has been approved with the assistance of the World Bank, ensuring better water management and disaster resilience.
Comprehensive Governance Measures
Other important decisions included support mechanisms for international migrant workers, as well as legislations related to displacement and rehabilitation. These measures underline the government’s inclusive governance model and its focus on welfare, development, and long-term sustainability.
