Jharkhand’s developmental progress under CM Hemant Soren’s leadership has received appreciation on a national platform. During the Rajasthan Business Summit 2025, held in Jaipur, the state highlighted its achievements in urban development, IT, infrastructure, and industry.
Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Road Construction Department, Mr. Sunil Kumar, presented a detailed report showcasing how Jharkhand is steadily evolving as an eco-friendly, mining-driven, and industrially progressive state. He emphasized the state’s consistent GDP growth and the availability of excellent transport connectivity through road, rail, air, and waterways.
Investor-Friendly Policies to Boost Opportunities
Mr. Sunil Kumar explained that Jharkhand has simplified the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, introducing investor-friendly mechanisms such as HEM mode and DBOT. These reforms are expected to ease investment procedures and attract more private participation. He also extended an open invitation to investors to explore opportunities in Jharkhand’s growing economy.
Urban Transformation in Ranchi and Beyond
Highlighting urban transformation, Mr. Sunil Kumar noted the rapid development of Ranchi and other major cities. Projects such as the Kantatoli flyover, Mecon-Siram Toli flyover, and Ratu Road flyover are significantly improving city infrastructure. Ranchi already has an 80 km ring road, while work on a 196 km outer ring road and a 45 km inner ring road is progressing swiftly. These ring roads will interlink with almost all routes of the city, boosting connectivity and reducing congestion.
Smart City and Modern Infrastructure Development
Guided by Urban Development and Housing Minister, Mr. Sudhivya Kumar, Ranchi has witnessed major smart city initiatives including the C-Four system, Urban Civic Tower, and advanced infrastructure projects. Extensive work in road widening, rail overbridges, bypasses, and underpasses has been carried out. In addition, industrial, tourism, and religious corridors have been developed to promote holistic growth.
Future Plans for Sustainable Growth
Mr. Sunil Kumar informed that major projects like airport expansion, ISBT development, new railway infrastructure, and digitization of cities are already underway. Plans for digital master plans, satellite townships, GIS-based planning, and beautification of rivers are also in the pipeline. A transit-based transport system is set to further strengthen Jharkhand’s urban ecosystem, ensuring sustainable development in the years to come.
