Jharkhand Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren emphasized that the state’s rapid progress depends on collective responsibility. Speaking at an appointment letter distribution and felicitation ceremony on Tuesday, he said that not only the Chief Minister and ministers but also officials, teachers, students, and citizens must contribute to making Jharkhand a strong and leading state. He stressed that only through education can society move forward from darkness to light, underscoring the transformative role of learning in development.

Senior Leadership Present at the Ceremony
The event was attended by Agriculture Minister Ms. Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Rajya Sabha MP Ms. Mahua Maji, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Avinash Kumar (1993-batch IAS officer), School Education and Literacy Department Secretary Mr. Umashankar Singh (2009-batch IAS officer), and State Project Director of JEPC Mr. Shashi Ranjan, along with other officials. Their presence reflected the government’s united approach to strengthening governance and education.
Strengthening Education Infrastructure
Mr. Soren highlighted that the state government is consistently working to strengthen the education system. Efforts are underway to make schools resource-rich, modern, and holistic. He assured that several new initiatives will be launched to improve the quality of education, ensuring that students benefit from better facilities and contemporary learning opportunities.
Student-Centric Initiatives
The Chief Minister outlined multiple initiatives aimed at encouraging and supporting students:
- Board exam toppers are being awarded laptops, mobile phones, and honorariums.
- A 100 percent scholarship is being provided for students pursuing higher education abroad.
- Under the Guruji Credit Card Scheme, students can avail education loans of up to Rs. 15 lakh without any guarantee for higher studies.
- Scholarships have been significantly increased to provide maximum support to children in their studies.
Solving the Problem of Single-Teacher Schools
Finance Minister Mr. Radhakrishna Kishore highlighted a major issue in Jharkhand’s education sector—over 7,000 schools operating with just one teacher. He assured that this problem will be resolved with new teacher appointments and by ensuring proper teacher-student ratios. He stressed that holistic development of Jharkhand is impossible without strengthening education.

Labor Minister Mr. Sanjay Prasad Yadav expressed confidence that the coalition government under Mr. Soren’s leadership will fulfill every citizen’s dreams. He emphasized that despite challenges, the government is committed to bringing smiles to every household through people-centric governance and welfare schemes.
