New Delhi: The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharti Airtel for the provision of Information Security Services, marking a major step forward in fortifying its cybersecurity architecture.
The partnership aligns with the Government of India’s broader Digital India initiative, aimed at promoting secure and resilient digital infrastructure across public and private sectors.
Top Leadership Backs Cybersecurity as a Core Priority
The MoU was signed in the presence of HUDCO Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kulshrestha, who emphasized the growing relevance of cyber safety in a rapidly digitalizing environment.
“In today’s digital age, cybersecurity must become a way of life. A secure digital culture not only protects organizations but also contributes to a safer and stronger Digital India,” Kulshrestha said at the event.
The agreement was formally executed by Rupesh Kumar Shah, Executive Director (IT) of HUDCO, and Saibal Roy, Senior Vice President at Bharti Airtel, signifying a high-level collaboration between the two entities.
Partnership to Elevate HUDCO’s Cyber Defenses
Under this MoU, Airtel will provide comprehensive information security solutions, including monitoring, risk management, threat mitigation, and advisory services. This initiative is aimed at ensuring robust protection of HUDCO’s digital infrastructure, covering both on-premise and cloud-based assets.
The collaboration reflects HUDCO’s strategic focus on adopting global best practices in cybersecurity, crucial to safeguarding sensitive data and supporting its core mission of financing housing and urban development projects across India.
A Step Toward Cyber-Resilient Public Sector Operations
By teaming up with Airtel – one of India’s leading digital service providers – HUDCO joins a growing list of public sector enterprises prioritizing cyber resilience. The move demonstrates a proactive stance on cyber risk governance, a key requirement for digital sustainability in mission-critical sectors.
This initiative is expected to set a benchmark for other Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) seeking to modernize and secure their IT environments.
