The Odisha government has appointed Mr. Manoj Kumar Sahoo, a 2006-batch IAS officer, as the Private Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi. Mr. Sahoo succeeds Mr. Arindam Dakua, who has been transferred as Director of Municipal Administration and Ex-Officio Additional Secretary in the Housing and Urban Development Department.
The General Administration and Public Grievance Department declared the post of Private Secretary to the Chief Minister equivalent in status and responsibility to that of a Special Secretary in the IAS cadre.
Originally from the Arunachal Pradesh cadre, Mr. Sahoo was deputed to Odisha for three years following a request by the state government. Since his arrival in December, he has held key roles, including Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office. Mr. Sahoo is expected to play a pivotal role in executing the state’s welfare schemes effectively.
