In a significant move aimed at boosting governance and speeding up developmental projects, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued fresh transfer and posting orders for several IAS officers. The bureaucratic reshuffle spans key departments including energy, registration, rural development, and district administration. All changes come into effect immediately.
New Leadership at A.P. GENCO
Ms. S. Nagalakshmi, a 2012-batch IAS officer who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (A.P. GENCO) under the Energy Department. She replaces Mr. K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu (2011 batch), who held the position previously. Her appointment is expected to bring renewed focus to the state’s energy production and infrastructure expansion plans.
Welfare, Registration and Rehabilitation Appointments
In a bid to bolster its welfare and rehabilitation framework, the government has appointed Ms. P. Prasanthi (2014 batch) as Director of Rehabilitation and Resettlement. Mr. B.R. Ambedkar (2015 batch) will now serve as Inspector General, Registration & Stamps, taking over from Mr. G. Veerapandian (2009 batch), who has been relieved of the additional charge. These changes are expected to streamline public service delivery in land and property registration.
Excise, Urban Development and District-Level Roles Filled
Mr. Sridhar Chamakuri (2016 batch) has been appointed Director of Excise & Prohibition, an important department regulating alcohol and enforcement policies. Mr. Amilineni Bhargav Teja (2018 batch) has been made Additional Commissioner of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), replacing Mr. Mallarapu Naveen (2018 batch), who has been posted as Joint Collector and Additional District Magistrate of Krishna district.
Strengthening Rural Development and Village Industries
With a focus on promoting self-reliance in rural areas, Mr. Katta Simhachalam (2019 batch) has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB). His new role is expected to accelerate the implementation of khadi, cottage industry, and micro-enterprise schemes in villages.
New Appointments for District Administration and Electoral Oversight
Mr. Mogili Venkateswarlu (2013 batch) has been posted as Joint Collector and Additional District Magistrate of Nellore, replacing Mr. Kollabathula Karthik (2020 batch), who has been transferred. Additionally, Mr. Mallikarjuna A (2012 batch), currently serving as Director of B.C. Welfare, will now also serve as Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission. This additional charge comes at a crucial time as electoral processes are expected to ramp up in the near future.
