The UP Bureaucracy has accepted the resignation of IAS officer Abhishek Singh after getting approval from the Central Government. The officer had given his resignation in October 2023 to the Appointments and Personnel Department.
There was speculation about the officer leaving the job and joining politics for a long time. Abhishek Singh has also worked in many films and after a long absence, he was suspended in February 2023. Abhishek Singh’s wife Durga Shakti Nagpal, is currently posted as the collector of Banda.
Abhishek was sent on deputation to Delhi in the year 2015. After returning to Uttar Pradesh after 5 years, he was sent as an observer in the Gujarat Assembly elections. There, the Election Commission removed him from observer duty on 18 November 2022 after he took a celebrity-style photo in front of a car and made it viral. On the other hand, the government had suspended him, after which he had decided to take VRS.
