Senior IAS officer Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, a 1996-batch officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is the regulatory authority for civil aviation in India, overseeing safety standards, airworthiness, and licensing of aviation professionals. It ensures compliance with international aviation norms and promotes safe and efficient air travel within the country.
Mr. Kidwai, who is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, received approval for his new role from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Friday.
This appointment marks a significant step in Mr. Kidwai’s distinguished administrative career, bringing his extensive experience to the helm of India’s civil aviation regulatory body.
