IAS Sumita Mishra (1990 batch) has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for the Home, Jail, Criminal Investigation, and Justice Administration departments in Haryana. She will replace Mr. Anurag Rastogi (1990-batch IAS officer) in this key role. Previously, she served as the ACS for the Medical Education and Research Department.
Born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Mishra has an impressive academic background. A graduate in Economics and Mathematics, she further honed her expertise through advanced public policy programs at renowned institutions like Harvard University, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, the Royal Institute of Public Administration in London, and the University of Cambridge.
Her career spans various administrative roles in Haryana, including SDM, DC, and Administrator of HUDA. Notably, she served as Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council from 2017 to 2020. During her tenure as Director in 2007, Haryana earned three National Awards for renewable energy and energy conservation under her leadership.
