The Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana has become a vital resource for underprivileged yet talented students who struggle to afford expensive coaching for competitive exams. This initiative offers free coaching, enabling students to prepare for significant exams such as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), and Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), as well as medical and engineering entrance tests. To date, 700 students have successfully passed various examinations through this program.

Launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the scheme aims to ensure that economically disadvantaged students have access to quality exam preparation. Since its inception in 2021, it has supported 82,209 students in the state who would otherwise be unable to afford coaching.

Currently, there are 156 coaching centres operating across Uttar Pradesh, providing high-quality instruction at no cost. These centres are overseen by the Abhyudaya Secretariat in Lucknow, which monitors their daily activities. Lucknow hosts the highest number of coaching centres at 11, while other districts also have robust programs: Kaushambi has six centres, Gorakhpur has five, and Varanasi and Bahraich each have four.

According to Kumar Prashant, the Director of Social Welfare, interest in this free coaching initiative is growing among students. Registration numbers have surged, with 6,000 students enrolled in 2021-22, rising to 25,380 in 2022-23. For the current 2023-24 session, 27,634 students have registered, and so far in the 2024-25 session, 23,195 students have signed up.

These figures clearly indicate the increasing popularity of the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana, highlighting its ongoing benefits. The scheme not only provides educational opportunities for economically weaker students but also plays a crucial role in helping them realize their aspirations.
