Mr. Vijay Bharti, an IAS officer of the West Bengal 2005 batch, has been transferred and appointed as the Secretary of the Science & Technology and Biotechnology Department of West Bengal. Prior to this, he served as the Principal Secretary of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA). Officer Bharti had earlier served as the District Magistrate of Birbhum.
