An IAS officer who was posted on election duty for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council died. According to an official statement Ajay Kumar Singh died in Varanasi due to heart attack.
Mr. Singh was 50 years old and was deployed as an observer for the election. At 9:30 on Friday he was travelling to the counting centre where he got the attack. He was rushed to the hospital but on Saturday the doctors declared him dead.
District Magistrate of Varanasi Kaushal Raj Sharma has expressed his grief on this unfortunate incident.
