The Odisha government has appointed IAS officer Satyabrata Rout as the Secretary of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. A notification to this effect was issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department on Thursday.
Rout, a 2013-batch IAS officer, was previously serving as the Additional Secretary in the Works Department. His new role comes ahead of the upcoming Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly, which is set to commence on February 13.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the state’s budget for the 2025–26 financial year on February 17. The general discussion on the budget will take place on February 20 and 21, while the appropriation bill is scheduled to be introduced on March 29. The session will conclude on April 5.
