IAS Yashwant Kumar Has Been Appointed as Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh – Know More

The Chhattisgarh government has assigned additional charge of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Chhattisgarh to IAS Yashwant Kumar. Mr. Kumar is a 2007-batch IAS officer. His appointment comes following a directive from the Election Commission of India, New Delhi.

Mr. Yashwant Kumar is currently serving as Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. With this new role, he will continue to hold additional responsibility for the Sports and Youth Welfare portfolio as well.

Meanwhile, Mr. Himanshu Gupta, also a 2007-batch IAS officer, who was previously serving as in-charge Secretary of the same department, has now been relieved of that additional responsibility. He will now function solely as Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department.

The administrative reshuffle aims to streamline responsibilities and ensure efficient execution of electoral duties in the state.
