2007 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer PK Ashok Babu has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
He is currently serving as the Consul General at the Consulate General of India, Cape Town.
The diplomat is expected to take up the assignment shortly, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
