New Delhi: As Indane, the iconic LPG brand from Indian Oil (Also IndianOil), marks its 60th anniversary, the company has taken a creative and impactful route to celebrate – by nurturing a culture of safety among the next generation.

To commemorate the milestone, IndianOil organized an LPG Safety Clinic at St. Angel’s Senior Secondary School, Rohini, engaging more than 500 students in an interactive and educational program focused on safe LPG usage.

Indane Rhino to the Rescue: Comics Meet Safety Awareness

A key highlight of the celebration was the launch of a specially crafted comic book in collaboration with Tinkle, featuring a heroic new mascot – Indane Rhino. In the story, Rhino fights off two villains, “Dhoom” and “Dhadaka,” who represent unsafe LPG practices and negligence.

  • Importance of LERC-certified LPG hoses
  • Keeping kitchens well-ventilated
  • Safe storage and handling of LPG cylinders

Hands-On Learning and Rewards

The event also featured a product display kiosk, where students explored Indane’s range of safety accessories such as

  • Suraksha hoses
  • Cooktops and aprons
  • Composite cylinders

A safety quiz added a fun and competitive edge to the session, with winners being felicitated in the presence of senior IndianOil officials and the school’s Chairman.

IndianOil’s Message: Youth as Safety Ambassadors

Speaking on the occasion, IndianOil officials emphasized the critical role youth can play in spreading awareness about LPG safety. By educating students early, the company hopes to create safety ambassadors in every home.

“This initiative is a part of our larger vision to build a responsible generation that understands and practices LPG safety, not just at home, but in the community as well,” said an IndianOil spokesperson.
