Mumbai: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) and Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce Maruti Suzuki vehicle service facilities at select IndianOil fuel stations across the country. The initiative is aimed at providing greater convenience to car owners by combining refuelling and basic vehicle maintenance at a single location.

One-Stop Solution for Car Owners

Under the partnership, Maruti Suzuki customers will be able to access scheduled periodic maintenance and minor repair services for their vehicles at designated IndianOil fuel stations. This move is expected to significantly reduce the time and effort involved in visiting separate locations for fuel and vehicle servicing.

The collaboration leverages IndianOil’s vast network of over 41,000 fuel stations nationwide to further strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s already extensive service footprint of more than 5,780 touchpoints across India.

Enhancing Customer Convenience

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saumitra P. Srivastava, Director (Marketing), IndianOil, said the company is focused on transforming fuel stations into customer-centric service hubs.
“With our extensive reach across the length and breadth of India, we are uniquely positioned to bring essential, value-added services closer to consumers. Partnering with Maruti Suzuki allows us to integrate world-class automotive maintenance alongside our energy offerings,” he said.

Expanding Maruti Suzuki’s Service Reach

Mr. Ram Suresh Akella, Executive Officer (Service), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, highlighted that the collaboration is designed to simplify the car ownership experience.
By partnering with IndianOil, one of India’s most trusted Maharatna enterprises, we will leverage their unmatched reach to take our after-sales service to locations frequently visited by our customers. This will enhance accessibility, convenience, and peace of mind throughout the ownership journey,” he said.

Convergence of Mobility and Energy Sectors

The initiative reflects a growing convergence between the mobility and energy sectors, with both companies aiming to deliver integrated solutions for customers. While similar models exist in some global markets, this collaboration marks a significant development in the Indian context due to the nationwide presence and large customer base of both IndianOil and Maruti Suzuki.

With Maruti Suzuki holding the largest market share in India’s passenger vehicle segment and millions of its cars on Indian roads, the partnership has the potential to substantially improve access to authorized service facilities, particularly in areas where standalone service centers are limited.
