The Ministry of Home Affairs has recently mandated IPS Akhil Chaudhary to take up charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) for a five-year term.
Mr. Akhil Chaudhary, a 2012-batch Punjab cadre IPS officer, was appointed to the post on a deputation basis for five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Officer Chaudhary is presently serving as Assistant IG Personnel-II, CPO, Punjab.
The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) is an Indian government agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It was established to improve the functioning of the police force in India and enhance the quality of policing through research, training, and development of modern policing techniques.
