New Delhi: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the PSU responsible for online railway ticketing and catering services, has reported a 7.46% year-on-year (YoY) rise in net profit to ₹331 crore for the first quarter of FY 2025–26 (Q1FY26), up from ₹308 crore in the same period last year.
Steady Growth in Revenue
IRCTC’s total income increased by 11.8% YoY, reaching ₹1,159.6 crore compared to ₹1,117.5 crore in Q1FY25. The growth was primarily supported by strong performances in the catering, Rail Neer, internet ticketing, and tourism divisions.
Revenue from operations rose 4% YoY to ₹1,160 crore (Q1FY26) from ₹1,118 crore (Q1FY25).
EBITDA (Operating Profit) rose 5.8% to ₹396 crore, up from ₹375 crore.
EBITDA margin improved slightly to 34.2% from 33.5% a year ago.
Internet Ticketing Remains Core Revenue Driver
IRCTC continues to lead India’s online railway ticket booking ecosystem, with over 12 lakh tickets booked daily through its website and mobile app. Internet ticketing remains its largest revenue contributor.
Other segments such as catering services, Rail Neer packaged water, and tourism (including operation of 2 Tejas trains) also contributed to the company’s income.
