New Delhi: The Government of India, through the Ministry of Communications, has entrusted Mr. Ramana Babu C V, Director (Marketing) at ITI Limited, with the additional charge of Director (Finance) for the company. The appointment, effective from October 15, 2025, will last for six months or until the regular incumbent assumes charge, or until further orders—whichever occurs earliest.
The official order was issued on October 14, 2025, formalizing this interim leadership change. Mr. Ramana Babu’s Director Identification Number (DIN) is 10478320. Notably, he is not barred by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority from holding the office of director.
Profile: Mr. Ramana Babu C V – Experienced Telecom Professional
Mr. Ramana Babu C V, a graduate in Electronics & Communications from Andhra University, holds a Diploma in Public Policy and Sustainable Development from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi. He belongs to the Indian Telecommunication Services (ITS) 1990 batch and has accumulated over 30 years of rich experience across diverse roles in the telecom sector.
He assumed charge as Director (Marketing) at ITI Limited on January 25, 2024. Over his extensive career, Mr. Ramana Babu has specialized in project planning, execution, installation, commissioning, and operations of telecom networks. Early in his career, he contributed to software development for large digital switching equipment at the Department of Telecom (DoT), including managing the smooth Y2K transition with critical software patches.
His expertise spans mobile networks, including the installation of CDMA and WiMAX technologies. He successfully led the Common Service Centre (CSC) project and managed spectrum issues for BSNL. Notably, he played a pivotal role in designing and soft launching the 4G network for BSNL in Chandigarh in 2016.
Before joining ITI Limited, Mr. Ramana Babu served as Chief General Manager at Bharat Broadband Networks Limited (BBNL), overseeing the completion of Phase 1, which involved connecting 120,000 Gram Panchayats with optical fiber cables.
Procurement and Technical Expertise
Apart from his technical and managerial skills, Mr. Ramana Babu has vast experience in procurement. He managed procurement activities for the erstwhile Department of Telecom and was instrumental in developing the BSNL procurement manual, now widely used as a benchmark by several telecom PSUs and private companies.
His interests include Internet of Things (IoT), mobile networks, circular economy, and renewable energy, reflecting his forward-looking approach to technology and sustainability.
