In a major step toward transforming the state’s education system, Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren announced that the Jharkhand government has initiated the recruitment process for 2,600 assistant school teachers. The announcement was made during an official programme where the Chief Minister distributed appointment letters to newly recruited educators.
Mr. Soren reiterated his government’s commitment to strengthening both primary and higher education systems across the state. “We understand the value of education. Every necessary step is being taken to improve the system comprehensively,” he said.
301 New Teachers Appointed Across Primary and Middle Schools
At the event, 301 newly appointed teachers received their appointment letters. Among them, 170 teachers will serve in classes 1 to 5, and 131 teachers will be deployed in classes 6 to 8.
Earlier, on September 2, the Chief Minister had distributed appointment letters to 909 assistant teachers, taking the total number of new recruitments this month to over 1,200, with the larger goal of onboarding 2,600 teachers.
Focus on Innovation: Project-Based Learning Introduced
Alongside the recruitment drive, Mr. Soren also launched a project-based learning initiative in schools, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP). The programme aims to make classroom learning more interactive and skills-oriented.
“The education landscape has transformed. Digital blackboards, online education platforms, and even artificial intelligence are now part of modern classrooms,” said Mr. Soren. However, he acknowledged that Jharkhand has some catching up to do and urged collective action to accelerate progress.
Breaking Stereotypes and Building Educational Excellence
Mr. Soren pointed out that due to historical and systemic issues, Jharkhand is often labeled as a “state of labourers.” He called on the people and stakeholders to change that narrative through education.
“We must all take responsibility to remove this stigma. We are working relentlessly to uplift the education sector and make quality education accessible to all,” he emphasized.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the state’s flagship initiative, CM Schools of Excellence, aimed at providing government school students with educational facilities on par with private institutions.
“With continued efforts, we can challenge the dominance of private schools and empower public education in Jharkhand,” he asserted.
