Justices Jitendra Shantilal Jain and P. Dhanabal Appointed as Permanent Judges

Justice Jitendra Shantilal Jain, who was serving as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court, has been appointed as a Permanent Judge of the Bombay High Court.

Justice Jitendra Jain completed his schooling in Mumbai and pursued B.Com. from Jai Hind College, followed by an LL.B. from Government Law College. He is also a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, and has completed the Company Secretary (Intermediate) course. His academic excellence includes securing the 34th rank in the I.C.W.A. final exam and obtaining the highest marks in Interpretation of Statutes during his law studies.

With a legal career spanning over two decades, Justice Jain practiced direct and indirect taxation, corporate, economic, and constitutional laws. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of India, Bombay High Court, various High Courts across the country, and tax tribunals in multiple cities. Additionally, he has taught taxation laws to students pursuing professional courses and has authored a book on the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) Act. He was sworn in as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court on June 15, 2023.

Similarly, Justice P. Dhanabal, who was serving as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court, has been elevated as a Permanent Judge of the Madras High Court.

Born on March 5, 1974, in Karur District, Tamil Nadu, Justice P. Dhanabal completed his B.Sc. in Physics from Government Arts College, Karur, before pursuing an LL.B. from Government Law College, Trichy. He enrolled as an Advocate in 1998 and later joined the judicial service in 2011.

Over the years, he has served in multiple judicial roles, including Additional District Munsif, Additional Sub Judge at Dharmapuri, and District Judge at Tirunelveli. He has also served as Principal District Judge, Cuddalore, Chief Judge, Puducherry, and lastly, as Registrar General of the Madras High Court before his elevation.
