The Ladakh Administration has allocated departments to IAS officers to ensure efficient governance across the Union Territory. The order was issued by the General Administration Department on the recommendation of the Civil Services Board.
Chief Secretary Given Key Departments
Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra has been entrusted with major portfolios including Finance, Home and Vigilance (CVO), Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Revenue. He will also serve as Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor.
Commissioner Secretary’s Expanded Role
Commissioner Secretary Dr. Laltinkhuma Franklin has been assigned Health and Medical Education, Planning, Development and Monitoring, and will function as Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor.
In addition, he will oversee Finance Department matters in Delhi as Secretary and hold charge as Commissioner, State Taxes and Excise, and Director, Accounts and Treasuries.
Administrative Secretaries Allotted Key Sectors
Administrative Secretary Sanjit Rodrigues will handle Housing and Urban Development, and Tourism and Culture.
Rahul Sharma has been given charge of Transport, Elections, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Public Health Engineering, and Irrigation and Flood Control. He will also serve as Chief Electoral Officer, Ladakh, and Inspector General of Registration.
Administrative Secretary Bhupesh Chaudhary has been assigned Industries and Commerce, including Mining and Geology, Civil Aviation, Science and Technology, and Agriculture and Horticulture. He will also serve as Managing Director of SIDCO.
Similarly, Administrative Secretary Shashanka Ala will oversee Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Information Technology, and Social and Tribal Welfare.
Administrative Secretary Bhanu Prabha has been allotted Higher Education, Technical Education and Skill Development, School Education, Cooperatives, and Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction.
Meanwhile, Administrative Secretary Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary will head Public Works (Roads and Buildings), Hospitality and Protocol, Estates, and Information and Public Relations.
Administrative Secretary Rudra Goud PT has been assigned General Administration, including ARI and Trainings, Grievances, Press, Stationery and Office Supplies, along with Power Development and New and Renewable Energy, Labour and Employment, and Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries.
The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and ensuring focused sectoral governance in the Union Territory.
