New Delhi– The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has appointed Arun Agarwal, Deputy Director General (Satellite), as the Government Nominee Director on the Board of ITI Limited, a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Communications. He replaces Sunil Kumar Verma, former Joint Secretary (Administration), DoT.
The appointment is for a period of three years, effective immediately, or until the date of his superannuation or further orders, whichever is earlier.
About Arun Agarwal
Arun Agarwal is a seasoned officer of the Indian Telecom Service (ITS), 1990 batch, with over 33 years of professional experience in India’s telecom sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and an MBA, bringing both technical expertise and management insight to the boardroom.
Throughout his career, Agarwal has handled key responsibilities across various domains including:
- Telecom planning and installation
- Satellite communications
- Standardization and rural telecom development
- Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) schemes
- Sustainability initiatives within the telecom ecosystem
Currently, he serves as the Deputy Director General (Satellite) at the DoT Headquarters, New Delhi, where he oversees satellite-based telecom strategies and coordination.
