Bhopal: Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh Council of Ministers convened on Tuesday and approved several strategic schemes aimed at rural empowerment, infrastructure development, education, and national defense training. The major decisions reflect the state’s focus on self-reliance, modern infrastructure, and institutional excellence.
Chief Minister Vrindavan Gram Yojana Approved to Make Villages Self-Reliant
The Cabinet approved the Chief Minister Vrindavan Gram Yojana, a transformative rural development scheme to promote self-reliant model villages across all districts. Villages with a population of at least 2,000 and 500+ cattle will be selected for intensive development in areas such as:
- Cow rearing and dairy development
- Organic farming and water conservation
- Solar energy use and pasture development
- Rural infrastructure and employment
- Spiritual and ecological harmony
Selected villages will serve as role models, showcasing economic independence, cleanliness, green energy use, and sustainable practices aligned with the concept of “Vrindavan.”
₹4,572 Crore Approved for Damaged Bridge Reconstruction
The Cabinet granted in-principle approval of ₹4,572 crore for reconstruction of 1,766 damaged bridges from FY 2025–26 to 2029–30. This project aims to ensure all-weather connectivity and strengthen rural road infrastructure. Implementation will be overseen by the Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority.
National Defence University to be Established in Bhopal
The Council approved the establishment of a National Defence University campus in Bhopal under the aegis of Rashtriya Raksha Vishwavidyalaya (RRU), Gandhinagar.
- ₹1.05 crore per year will be provided for 3 years.
- 10 acres of land from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) campus will be allotted.
- RGPV’s temporary facilities will be used until the permanent campus is built.
This move aims to strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s role as a hub of defense education, skill development, and strategic collaboration.
₹31 Crore Approved for Hostel Mess Facilities for Backward Class Students
The Cabinet approved ₹31 crore (₹14 crore non-recurring and ₹17 crore recurring) to run mess services in 108 hostels under the Backward Classes Welfare Department, benefiting over 9,000 students.
1,266 New Posts Approved for Forensic Support Under New Criminal Laws
To support the implementation of Section 176(3) of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, the government has approved 1,266 new posts, including 202 Scientific Officers, for compulsory forensic visits in crimes with punishment of 7 years or more.
Madhya Pradesh becomes the first state in India to implement this provision.
New Tribal and SC Coordinator Offices in Three Districts
Approval was granted for establishing District Coordinator Offices for Tribal and Scheduled Castes in the newly formed districts of Mauganj, Maihar, and Pandhurna. A total of 48 new posts will be created, involving an annual financial outlay of ₹3.81 crore.
