The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, under the leadership of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, held a crucial meeting on Wednesday at the Mantralaya, approving several major proposals covering forest conservation, power sector restructuring, agriculture procurement, social welfare, and infrastructure development.

Rs. 1,038 Crores Cleared for CAMPA Fund Implementation
The Cabinet approved the use of Rs. 1,038 crores out of Rs. 1,478.38 crores under the Compensatory Afforestation Fund (CAMPA) for 2025–26. Of this, 80% will be spent on forest and wildlife management, while 20% will strengthen related infrastructure. The funds will be directed towards afforestation, river catchment restoration, soil conservation, habitat development, urban forests, and relocation of villages from protected areas.
66 New Anganwadi Centres to Be Set Up
The Cabinet approved the establishment of 66 new Anganwadi centers under the Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Upliftment Campaign via the Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 scheme. This includes the creation of 134 new posts (66 Anganwadi workers, 66 assistants, and 2 supervisors). The estimated cost of Rs. 15.21 crores will be split between the Centre and the state government.
Lake View Residency Hotel, Bhopal, to Be Developed Under PPP Model
The Cabinet has cleared the PPP-based development of Lake View Residency Hotel, Bhopal, on a DBFOT basis. The MP Tourism Development Corporation will reimburse stamp duty and registration fees from its own budget to support the private investor.
Major Restructuring of Power Distribution Companies
A significant decision was made to approve the creation of 77,298 posts, which includes 49,263 new regular posts in the state’s three power distribution companies. Additionally, 17,620 obsolete posts will be abolished, and 5,650 dying cadre posts will be phased out gradually. The Energy Department has been authorized to undertake recruitment as per the new structure.
Procurement of Summer Moong and Urad Approved
Under the Price Support Scheme (PSS), the Cabinet gave a green signal for the procurement of summer moong and urad for the Rabi marketing years 2023–2026, including procurement of excess summer moong for 2024–25. The procurement will be undertaken by the State Cooperative Marketing Federation.
Rs. 84.17 Crores Interest Waiver on Farmers’ Irrigation Dues
In a major relief for farmers, the Cabinet approved a waiver of Rs. 84.17 crores in interest on irrigation dues. Farmers who clear their principal amount by March 31, 2026, will not be required to pay the interest component.
New Regional and District-Level Posts Approved
The Cabinet has approved the establishment of Local Fund Audit regional offices in Narmadapuram, Chambal, and Shahdol divisions. Additionally, seven Assistant Director posts have been sanctioned for newly formed districts: Niwari, Maihar, Mauganj, and Pandhurna.
Termination of Power Purchase Agreements with Defaulters
The Cabinet resolved to terminate power purchase agreements with developers who failed to fulfill obligations under variable-rate contracts. Developers will have to pay Rs. 10 lakh per MW as liquidated damages, with bank guarantees (Rs. 3 lakh per MW) returned only after settlement.
Stamp Duty Amendment Bill Passed
The Indian Stamp (Madhya Pradesh Amendment) Bill, 2025 was approved to enable stamp duty adjustments based on price index changes, projected to generate Rs. 212 crores in additional revenue for the state.
