Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav on Friday cancelled his scheduled engagements after returning from New Delhi and travelled directly to Chhindwara to meet families affected by the recent fatal road accident in Mohkhed tehsil.
He visited Karer, Gwara and Jhiria villages, where several victims belonged, and later met the injured at the district hospital.
CM offers condolences, says government stands with affected families
During his interaction with grieving families, the chief minister described the accident as deeply painful and assured them of full state support.
He told the families that the government stands firmly with them during this difficult period and urged them to remain strong.
₹8 lakh assistance announced for each deceased victim’s family
The chief minister announced ₹8 lakh financial assistance for each deceased person’s family.
The compensation includes:
- ₹4 lakh from government relief funds
- ₹4 lakh under Sambal Yojana
Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan Sambal Yojana support will be used wherever applicable.
₹1 lakh aid for injured, full treatment cost by government
For those injured in the accident, the state government announced:
- ₹1 lakh financial assistance per injured person
- full medical treatment at government expense
Medical teams sent from Jabalpur and Nagpur
The chief minister said medical teams were immediately mobilised after the accident.
Specialist doctors were sent from Jabalpur, while coordination was also made for treatment in Nagpur for critically injured patients.

Minister Rakesh Singh was sent immediately after accident
Soon after receiving information about the accident near Simariya Nala, the chief minister directed Rakesh Singh to cancel engagements and proceed immediately to Chhindwara.
CM reviews treatment arrangements at district hospital
At the district hospital, Dr. Yadav met injured victims and reviewed medical arrangements personally.
He instructed officials to ensure there is no delay or negligence in treatment.
Officials told to treat victims like family members
In an emotional interaction, the chief minister directed the district administration and hospital officials to care for the injured as they would for members of their own families.
He told officials to prepare for all future requirements and ensure complete support for affected households.
Inquiry ordered into accident
The state government has also ordered an inquiry into the road accident to determine the circumstances and responsibility.
Government promises continued support
The chief minister assured affected families that the state government will continue to stand with them until all necessary support is delivered.
