Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh — The historic city of Gwalior witnessed an extraordinary wave of patriotism on Monday as Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav led a vibrant and emotionally charged Tiranga Yatra, just days ahead of India’s 78th Independence Day. The rally was not only a tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters but also a celebration of the recent success of Operation Sindoor, India’s swift military response to the cowardly terror attack in Pahalgam.
A Sea of Tricolour
The yatra commenced from Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Tiraha (City Centre) at 3 PM and moved through City Centre Road, Gandhi Road, and Akashvani, finally culminating at the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agriculture University. The entire route was adorned in saffron, white, and green, symbolizing unity, sacrifice, and peace. Streets came alive with patriotic decorations, colorful rangolis, and cultural performances that reflected India’s glorious history and cultural pride.

The Chief Minister, joined by Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, District BJP President Jaiprakash Rajoria, and other dignitaries, stood atop a specially designed vehicle, waving at crowds and showering flower petals on the citizens lining the streets.
Children Dressed as Freedom Fighters – The Heart of the Event
A key attraction was the presence of children dressed as iconic freedom fighters and martyrs. Their vibrant costumes and confident presence captivated onlookers, turning the event into a living tribute to India’s independence struggle. CM Yadav personally greeted these children, applied ceremonial tilak, posed for photographs, and praised their symbolic role in reviving historical consciousness among the youth.
Operation Sindoor: A Symbol of Strength
During his address, Dr. Mohan Yadav paid glowing tributes to the bravery of the Indian armed forces for executing Operation Sindoor, a strong and strategic retaliation following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He emphasized how such actions reaffirm India’s defense preparedness under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Operation Sindoor is a message that India will never tolerate terror. The Army’s valor has made every Indian proud. Through this yatra, we salute their sacrifice and courage,” he said.

Nation-Building Through Celebration
The Tiranga Yatra wasn’t just a march; it was an emotional reminder of India’s sacrifices and a call for national unity and service. Patriotic songs, chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, and cultural performances along the route elevated the spirit of the event.
Following the rally, CM Yadav attended the Diamond Jubilee celebration of ‘Ekatma Manav Darshan’ at the Dattopant Thengadi Auditorium, where he served as the chief guest and extended his best wishes to all citizens for Independence Day.
A Message to the Nation
“This is not just a march; it is our collective voice for the country. Ahead of August 15, such events are filling the environment with deshbhakti (patriotism). I congratulate everyone and urge citizens to carry this spirit forward,” said CM Yadav.
