Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has emphasized the importance of providing world-class education within the state, ensuring that students seeking higher education need not travel abroad. Speaking at a high-level meeting held at Sushasan Bhavan on Wednesday, the Chief Minister underlined the government’s commitment to creating an academic environment that matches international standards locally.

Task Force to Establish International University Centres

Dr. Yadav announced that the state government is taking decisive steps to put Madhya Pradesh on the global education map. A special task force has been constituted to facilitate the establishment of study centres of international universities in the state, with official orders expected to be issued soon.

Officials from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (ABVIGPA) informed that discussions are underway with globally renowned institutions, including Arizona State University (ASU) and Purdue University from the United States, as well as Asia University from Taiwan, to set up study centres in Madhya Pradesh.

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Data Science
  • Healthcare Sciences
  • Management
  • Cutting-edge technological fields

Local industries, startups, and the innovation ecosystem in the state will also benefit from specialized expertise and opportunities for joint research programs with these institutions.

Task Force to Ensure Smooth Implementation

The task force formed by the state government will be chaired by Professor Santosh Vishwakarma. It will oversee all technical, academic, and legal aspects related to establishing the study centres and will expedite agreements and collaborations with international universities. Successful implementation of these centres is expected to position Madhya Pradesh as India’s most attractive and ideal destination for higher education.

Strategic Initiatives for State Development

ABVIGPA is also working on strategic initiatives in sectors crucial to the state’s rapid development, including:

  • Semiconductors
  • Quantum Technology
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Agri-tech and innovation-driven industries

The institute is engaging national and international experts to provide subject-specific guidance, scientific advice, and strategic direction. Their participation will strengthen ABVIGPA’s capacity and enhance implementation and monitoring of innovation-focused programs.

Senior Officials Participate in Planning

The meeting was attended by ABVIGPA Vice President Dr. Rajeev Dixit, Chief Secretary and CEO Mr. Gulshan Bamra, Director Mr. Rishi Garg, and other senior officials.
