The Madhya Pradesh government has amended the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Special Provision for the Appointment of Women) Rules 1997.
It has specifically modified Rule 3 by substituting Sub-Rule 1 with a new provision.
This updated sub-rule guarantees that, regardless of any existing service regulations, there will be a 35% reservation for women at the stage of direct recruitment for all positions within the state’s services (excluding the forest department).
This reservation is designed to be applied horizontally and across different categories.
