New Delhi: In a significant milestone for India’s hydropower sector, NHPC Limited has successfully commenced the Wet Commissioning of Unit-I (250 MW) of its flagship 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (HEP). The event, which took place on 24th October 2025, marked the successful mechanical run of the machine — officially launching the commissioning phase for the first unit of India’s largest hydroelectric power project.
This achievement underscores NHPC’s ongoing efforts to contribute to India’s renewable energy transition while enhancing its hydroelectric generation capacity.
