Nalanda: During his ongoing ‘Samriddhi Yatra’, Nitish Kumar announced and reviewed a major package of development projects worth ₹810 crore in Nalanda. The package includes the inauguration of 110 projects worth ₹316 crore and the foundation laying of 106 projects valued at ₹494 crore.
The Chief Minister emphasized timely execution and directed officials to accelerate the implementation of all approved schemes.
Key Highlight: Inauguration of ₹84.81 Crore Flyover
A major highlight of the visit was the inauguration of a 1,620-meter-long flyover built at a cost of ₹84.81 crore on the Bihar Sharif–Ranchi road. Nitish Kumar noted that the flyover fulfills a long-standing demand of local residents and will significantly ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the region.

Focus on Riverfront, Irrigation, and Flood Control
The Chief Minister inspected multiple ongoing projects, including:
- Riverfront development along the Panchane River
- Flood control and anti-erosion works
- Restoration of irrigation systems like the Panchane Irrigation Scheme
- Construction of RCC anti-flood sluice gates
- Renovation of traditional water systems like Ahar-Pyne
He reviewed progress on embankments, drainage systems, and water management infrastructure to ensure better flood resilience in rural areas.
Boost to Tourism and Heritage Development
Special attention was given to tourism development in Rajgir. Projects include:
- Development of Brahmakund परिसर
- Eco-tourism initiatives
- Upgradation of attractions like Venu Van, Jay Prakash Udyan, and Ghoda Katora
- Dinosaur Park development
These initiatives aim to enhance Nalanda’s appeal as a cultural and eco-tourism destination.
₹393.5 Crore Support to Women Self-Help Groups
In a significant step toward women empowerment, the Chief Minister distributed a symbolic cheque of ₹393.5 crore to 17,811 members of Jeevika self-help groups. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, highlighting improved livelihoods and financial independence through government support.
Review Meeting and Governance Push
At a review meeting held in Bihar Sharif, Nitish Kumar assessed the progress of schemes under:
- Saat Nischay-2
- Upcoming Saat Nischay-3 initiatives
- Previously announced projects during earlier development tours
He instructed officials to ensure efficient execution with accountability and sensitivity, stressing that benefits must reach the grassroots level.
Public Address: Emphasis on Development and Law & Order
Addressing a large gathering, Nitish Kumar highlighted improvements in governance since 2005, citing better law and order, infrastructure growth, and enhanced access to education, healthcare, and electricity across Bihar.
He called for collective efforts to position Bihar among India’s top five developed states.
