Bhubaneswar: In a strategic move to maintain continuity in high-priority sectors, the Odisha Government has allowed three senior IAS officers to continue holding additional charges in departments pivotal to the state’s development, including agriculture, livelihoods, and urban transport.
The announcement was made by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, aimed at ensuring smooth execution of critical projects and avoiding administrative disruptions.
K. Sudarshan Chakravarthy Continues with Agricultural Marketing and Civil Supplies
K. Sudarshan Chakravarthy, a 2011-batch IAS officer (RR cadre), will continue serving as:
- Managing Director, Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd
- Director, Agricultural Marketing
- Ex-Officio Member Secretary, Odisha State Agricultural Marketing (OSAM) Board
His extended role reinforces the government’s focus on strengthening the agriculture supply chain and rural market access in the state.
Dr Monica Priyadarshini Retains Key Roles in Livelihoods and Women Empowerment
Dr Monica Priyadarshini, an AGMUT-2014 batch IAS officer, will retain her additional responsibilities alongside her current post as Mission Director, Odisha Livelihoods Mission. She will also continue as:
- Director, Mission Shakti
- Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Odisha Rural Management and Advisory Services (ORMAS)
Her continuation comes as the additional appointment of Chakravarthy Singh Rathore as ORMAS CEO has been officially terminated, effective from the date she assumes the charge.
These roles are vital in implementing livelihood promotion, women’s empowerment, and rural entrepreneurship initiatives across Odisha.
Sanjay Kumar Biswal to Continue as MD of Urban Transport Body
Sanjay Kumar Biswal, a 2015-batch IAS officer (NCS cadre) and Additional Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, has been allowed to retain his additional charge as Managing Director of Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT).
CRUT plays a critical role in urban mobility and public transport infrastructure in and around the Bhubaneswar region.
